I need to cut the blue line out to put in another pic, but I am at a loss right now how to do it....
Any ideas?

Magic wand (Fuzzy select). Set threshold to around 60% and
Select by
to hue.

select by colour, use "add to current selection" option (press shift as you click?) to get slightly different shades of blue

It was the threshold settings that were stopping it working, thanks guys, another YACF win!

If you're doing it often I think openstreetmap would probably render the GPX into an image for you. They you could add that as a layer into whatever you're going to, using gimp.
