RIP John O'Dreams
« on: 21 November, 2018, 02:14:09 pm »
My good friend and one-time musical partner Bill Caddick died last night.  There might not be many on here who knew of him but he was one of the most distinctive English song-writers and his guitar style on a 12-string Framus was unique.  He is best known for his re-working of a Tchaikowsky tune to which he added the lyrics and which we know as "John O'Dreams".  It contains the apposite lines:-

"Home is the rover
"His journey over."

Rest In Peace, Bill - and God bless you.

PS  My last contact with Bill was a year ago.  You always think someone is just an e-mail away.  They might not be.  i'm making a list of people I have to go and see as soon as I can.  Please, don't leave it too late.

Truth.

When are you calling in for a brew?   :)

Well that's the more blunt way of putting it but as usual he's dead right.
