Arriving in the post this morning was a set of Durano Plus 25c tyres and tubes, new cables, donuts and outers, 10 speed chain, brake inserts and some shiny new Shimano barrel adjusters.  It's spring rebuild time for my Audax bike that's not seen any love in way too long a time.

Now all I've got to do is get it fettled and ready in time for the Kennett Valley Run on Saturday  :D

As my friendly UPS man delivered a pair of hubs and other goodies from Herr Rose I was placing a further order for spokes and other stuff to complete the wheel rebuild for my venerable 1975 Galaxy ... oh, and a tin of Copaslip from Amazon that will probably last me 100 years, but was only about a quid more than a tiny tube of the stuff.

A dolan prefisssiiiooo frameset to replace the cracked winter bike frame. Looks nice and shiny. And should be the right size too.

It was either here or in silly signs. Bib tights from this bunch http://bi-bike.eu/ via Sportpursuit (my link) - took a week or three as ever with them, but excellent value gear for £40 (I'd say £120+ value, if a little Italian sized - unlike me)

But the pad has me a little worried

I finally got my spare wheel.  The shop was having trouble finding a disc brake rotor that would fit.  My original wheel appears to have a 165mm diameter which is very unusual. The shop was confused because I have a Hope type F disc mount. The 165mm rotor fitted perfectly.  This is a custom frame so the wheel was given to Argos who set up the brake to size rather than specification.  Unfortunately this meant that it is not easy to get the right size rotor.

After a couple weeks of puzzling how to get a suitable rotor I remembered I had the twin of the rotor in my parts box which came off my non-dinamo front wheel a long time ago.

Couple of GP 4000s.
I've dusted off all those old bottles and set them up straight

A box of 30 CO2 cannisters.
They're ~£2.00 each in bike shops but only ~£0.70 from "other" sources.

"overhaul" it, or you can ride it.  (Jerome K Jerome)

Chris' Law Of Cycle Shopping: Bicycle parts/accessories sold from a website with a .cc URL are twice as expensive as those from other TLDs.

They haven't arrived yet since I only ordered them today.
What I forgot to add was the £5 delivery charge  so they're £0.85 each.

I've lost all my Aldi glasses and i'm sick of waiting for them to reappear, so I stumped up for some dhb specs with interchangeable lenses from Wiggle.

As soon as the DHB ones arrive, the Aldi ones will re-appear!

Sod's Law in action, innit?

I haven't pulled the trigger yet, but am scoping out some new tyres for the Croix de Fer - last night's encounter with the remains of a broken bottle didn't end well (and if I ever find the people who are breaking the bottles on the cycle track, I'll temporarily 'forget' that I'm a pacifist and break bottles over their bloody heads)

Schwalbe CX Comp in 700x35 are the current favourites since a) the tread pattern isn't radically different from that on the stock tyres (Continental Cyclocross Speed)  and b) they're not Contis.

To complete the story, the box arrived as promised on Thursday and the inflators look perfectly serviceable.
I hope not to be reporting further for a long time.

It does occur to me that a group buy of one of the big boxes of inflators would be worthwhile for one of the local massives on here.
(Local 'cos the inflators can be handed over in person rather than having to be sent in the post.)
