(NB miles, the official measurement for distance for mid-Essex and the rest of our Godforsaken land)

I can't believe that the decimal system first proposed by Bishop John Wilkins in England in 1668, and which has been exclusively taught in favour over all other obscure systems of measurement in British schools since the early 1970s, has not yet become universal.

Not that there is anything wrong with audaxing, I enjoy a little myself every now and then, its just that I don't want you lot getting obsessed.  Variety and the spices of life and all that.

Having just spent a day riding the hills around Sevenoaks, I can attest that variety and audaxing can combine quite nicely. But appreciate the sentiment that not everything revolves around audaxing.

I take it tomorrow night we shall be heading towards the Rose & Crown Great Waltham???

That's where I intend to be.

I am now driving to my off site so I should be in good fettle for a ride to the Rose & Crown.  I will be using km so will probably need to follow my own route.

Looking forward to Psyclist's powerpoint presentation on Bishop John Wilkins

Did Bishop Wilkins invent the metric system and jam and was also perhaps the local Tiptree vicar when he wasn't too busy inventing stuff?

And by the way, psyclist is growing on me.  Not only does he support FORWARD PLANNING, organises fun trips to interesting places like Holland (which it should be noted involves audaxing but this does nothing to detract from the plan   ) but he is also the fount of interesting facts.  This used to be the sole preserve of Tomsk (*) so its good so add another bright spark to our number.

(*) To be fair Oaky knows a lot of good stuff too but rarely anyone know what he's going on about.

I am still learning the best roads in the area, and am amazed at the brilliant routes you have built up.  I'm likely to use a route that is a little d....t (I now know not to use the "D" word).

I was curious about that too... :D

Here's my route I shall be following tonight, however I am not sure what time I shall be setting off as I am undecided about if I am eating at home or at the pub....  ???

There is a chance the Witham peloton might take a direct route to the R&C via TMNH.

Following on from our forward planning document curated by OD and the discussions in the pub last night....  I've created a Google Calendar with his suggestions in and some of you might have received an invite already for it to be shared with you... if you are a regular attendeeeee and would like to be in on the list, please drop a message to either myself or OD to add you to the list it's shared with.

I don't think I have any email address details for SSN, Jan or Andrew... so if you would find the calendar useful, drop either Steve or myself an email...
Regards,

Joergen

Assuming we are going to The Cock at Hatfield Broad Oak on Wednesday evening (any dissenters can talk to psyclist personally - I'm not getting involved!) the Witham peloton might want to use the SAME ROUTE as we followed last May.
