Nik - can't you just get off the train at Clemo and train back to the bike in Witham ?

We'll probably be heading down earlier to get some food en route, probably by foot...

Open the spoiler link for details of a Velodrome session on Wednesday 3rd August from 8pm, get in quick if you're interested this time because I am going to cap the maximum number of riders to 15 unless I get lots of interest very quickly to make it worthwhile booking a 2nd instructor, if that is even possible with the lead time.

Witham Cycling has secured a 2 hour Track Taster Session at the Lee Valley Velodrome on the evening of Wednesday 3rd August between 20:00 and 22:00. This will be the last offer in 2016.
Same format as previous track sessions. More details available at the link.

Due to the short notice and previous attandence levels I have to cap this session to a maximum of 15. There will only be one instructor booked. If you are interested in going then please send your PayPal deposit (cash also accepted) to me as soon as possible to secure your place and avoid disappointment.
Depending upon numbers cost of the evening is likely to be between £32 and £42 for the 2 hour track session, this figure includes £12 for bike hire but shoe hire is an additional £7 if desired.
Before the event you will need to have valid CTC or BC 3rd party insurance by way of membership of one of those organisations and be a signed up member of Witham Cycling which can be completed on the day if necessary. As a club we are affiliated with CTC and members of Witham Cycling can take up discounted individual associate membership here https://www.ctc.org.uk/join-membership/setup/AFMI using our club number 90063203 which provides 12 months of 3rd party insurance.

You will be responsible for getting yourself to the VeloPark. I will probably be travelling by train to Stratford and walking from there. At least 30 minutes needs to be allowed for walking from Stratford train station to the Velodrome. You should plan to arrive soon after 19:00 to allow for checking in, changing and getting set up on a bike.

Ok, so here's the thing...I've received the invoice for the Velodrome trip on the 3rd Aug and I've been invoiced for 2 instructors although I only requested one on the booking form. Now this means that I either need to have a discussion with them about taking off the 2nd instructor or have 20+ places sold to make it worthwhile keeping the 2nd. So far I have 12 confirmed reservations and not all of the usual suspects OTP have expressed an interest.
I have OD, Oaky, bobb, Warrior Princess, Secret Squirrel Gavin, DL & friends, some from WC, and mini Huggy. There will be a mix of abilities in a group of 15 or two groups of another number so don't be afraid to come along, experienced or not

I have a pass tonight after all so I should see you all somewhere along the way. I have some fettling to get done so depending on how long that takes I will either head straight for Mersea or try to intercept between Messing and Witham.

I suspect you will be around the Feering/Inworth area around 8:15ish with a 19:30 depart so will aim for that.

Not drinking remains though, the gout seems to have backed off but I don't fancy pushing my luck!
