You're not going to embarrass me with your attire are you?  :P

I find it gives me a psychological edge.

That brings me nicely to my next football chant reworded to be about OD:-

His dress sense scares us all!

Ok...ACME Audax Forward Planning Alert...

Mindful of LEL training and maintaining our reputation as the Flandrians of Audax, how about going out of Essex this winter? This could even, in one case, involve ece-ing 100km or team cars.

I was thinking about:

18th Dec: Santa Special 200 [be rude not to].

14th Jan: Swaffham 100/50 [Jonathan Reed's].

25th Feb: Mad Jack Fuller 120 [done this a few times - ludicrously hilly, but lovely countryside].

  Forrin....yes.

I'm trying not too book too much up at the moment and I am avoiding really giving Mrs Tippers dates to give the impression that I am slowing down for a couple of months but.....I have put Take Ewe to the Severn, Seas & Wye in my calendar as a potential 600km so some AAA stuff would be grand.

The Santa Special makes a good December 200 for RRTY purposes but I may try and get one in earlier depending on conditions.

Perhaps it's a trained falcon, dressed as a person in a top hat?

The Real Actual Mortal Remains of Mad Jack Fuller are said to be sitting on his favourite chair, dressed in frock coat and top hat, inside the pyramid, holding a bottle of Claret...

Folks further to Tomsks posts as part of my build up to LEL I am toying with the idea of an AAA SR next year. I am thinking I might aim to do a perm 200 in Wales on a previously ridden route, John Hamiltons Barcud Coch. (200km, 3,750m climbing and 3.75 AAA)

If I do it, it would probably be late April. Heading out to Wales on Friday after work ride on Saturday and return either Saturday night or Sunday morning.

The ride covers some really stunning scenery around Mid Wales and the Brecon Beacons. It crosses up with some pieces of the BCM but only on short sections. Some pics and info from the last ride HERE

Just putting it out there for any potential interest.

But, but, but I spent a lot of time and effort on Fred's rear mudflap and I'm very proud of what I've achieved!  And let's not forget the Tesco ring binder which gave up its back cover - a selfless sacrifice.

hehe....and I am certain that at some point on an audax I will find an alternative use for a piece of Carpet tile.....not to mention the holes I drilled in my Stainless Guards to fit them  ;D
