Still no sign of frost round here.

Wye, in Kent, is one of the nearest weather stations to us for which the met office have published certain data, and according to this data http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/climate/uk/averages/19712000/sites/wye.html the Wye station recorded an average of more than 40 days of frost a year for a 30 year period (1971 - 2000).

So far in 2011 we've only had 7 days in which the temperature has fallen below freezing, and for two of those at least, there was only one brief spell of frost which happened to fall either side of midnight, so it counted twice, as it were.

About 1/2" here in the lower Pennines. Cold outside with continued dustings every now and then.
No commute today (day off) so have cleaned the bikes in preparation of getting them dirty again tomorrow and replaced a broken front braze-on derailleur....

The fells look very white this morning, but the snow on the lowlands has just about all melted away again. We're getting lots of hail squalls at the moment.

Nothing here, the paths were icy first thing but the air is cold and has the feeling of snow in it.

Apparently it was snowing in Wetherby this morning, but it hasn't reached York (yet)
Given how freakin' windy it is outside, I find this a bit surprising.
Wet sleet in Leeds. More like hail that wasn't quite managing to nucleate properly.  Very unpleasant to cycle into with a headwind.

I get the feeling Winter has been cancelled in London this year. You can remind me I said that.

Edit: feels proper parky tonight. That didn't take long...

Funnily enough, no sign of snow down here either. You know it's bad when I start reporting the white stuff.

No snow here but I was surprised to see frost on the verges this morning. Given that I'm on the south coast (Eastbourne) and it wasn't that chilly (I thought) last night.

What was even stranger was the Cooden beach road (rather laney and not heavily trafficked) has been gritted.  ??? Didn't get any grit on it last year when it ended up with a couple of inches of snow on it.

Here on the hills above Luton, there was ice all over the roads this morning, and for the first time in over 6 months I wore a long sleeve jersey under my jacket, along with a buff over my ears.

It was cold.

We drove back from Cheshire last night. I chose to go over the Cat & Fiddle, mainly for old times sake - if I couldn't ride it, at least I'd drive :D

It was wet in Macclesfield, but I still hadn't anticipated snow on the moors. Not much of it really, but definitely a covering of white.

Most of my commute home through the Peaks is above 240m asl.
Winter wonderland conditions on the way home this evening - lovely trip except for the patch of black ice up the hill just 300m from home....  :P

The gritters were out here last night. But why? OK, it was frosty this morning - but the roads were bone dry. No ice anywhere.

It was raining about 3 o'clock here, with a tiny bit of sleet mixed into it. That's all.

It was much milder here this morning but this afternoon I left the office to get a bus into town and I think it was about 0 degrees Kelvin. Which could explain why there was no bus.

Mild and sunny here this afternoon, until it got too late to be sunny. I think that that was around sunset.

B974 over the Cairn closed today ( snow gates locked ).

There was only the slightest dusting of snow, and a little bit of ice.
It was well-passable with care.

Since they installed the snow-gates, they just close them at the drop of a hat in order to save on the cost of running a plow/gritter over the top.

I drove back to Somerset from Scotland today, lots of snow in the Glasgow area and also covering the mountains in the Lake Disctrict. There was a bit of a slushy blizzard on the M74. The temperature in Scotland was 0C, but by the time I got down south it was 6C. Very windy too in the north today.
