It's been raining all day in Mos Eisley Spaceport Pompey, which is about par for the course when SNO is forecast. It's going to take a proper 2010-style SNOpocalypse hitting all points north of Butser Hill for any proper manifestation of the white stuff here.  ::-)

Wet sleet in Leeds and York, with sub-zero temperatures forecast.

Can't bring myself to bother fitting spiked tyres though. I'll take the (longer, slower) back route in - it's nearly always heavily gritted.

Turned into a nice day here. Sunny. Springlike even.
And tomorrow doesn't look too bad either.
Wednesday however...

Well, it's started coming down properly now. I got a few miles in when it was still just a few flakes.

Now raining in my corner of London.  That's not so bad, but an overnight freeze might make things interesting. :-\

The Met Office thinks it's going to snow here overnight, with the temperature close to freezing. That could be messy. Northerly wind.

Coming down hard in Norwich, I just drew a spaffing cock in the car park.

TPIUWP ... oh, wait ...

The roads round here are in pretty good nick, although the paths and cycle-tracks don't appear to have been treated. Since its likely to be icy tomorrow I've dropped Pugsley's tyre pressure to 12psi, just in case :)

That is low. I have ridden a bike with 20psi in the rear tyre and it was dangerously flat, not enough to cushion all the road's unevenness and wobbly on corners.
Pugsley is a "fat bike" on 3" tyres, it will cope wonderfully.

The day started [1] with snow, it then stopped, then started again, but light, and has now got harder.

However, due to the earlier snow melting it is not laying, which is good.

[1] Start of the day, today, for me was 09:50 as I had a carp nights sleep due to ankle pain.

Three inches of snow here in 90 minutes. On a weekday afternoon. The roads are complete gridlock.

I like the tweet from Norfolk Police - "Norwich is a mess. Please... stay away."

And the postman in the post office, here in Diss:

"The A1066 is blocked at Roydon, Stanley road is blocked, the A140 is blocked at Scole, and Denmark hill is blocked by twats."

4" tyres (well, 3.8")
It does indeed cope wonderfully on snow. Ice, not so much.
I've got a magnificently aching hip which more than proves this point.

I just looked at Norwich on the AA traffic site - now that's entertaining!

Discretion was the better part of valour for the commute home: I walked the 2 miles home & was outpacing the motorists all the way down the A140 in Norwich - and on icy pavements too...

The bike will stay at home tomorrow.
