Got caught out unexpectedly last night in Enniskillen with the cargo bike. Was tempted to leave it there and take a taxi the six miles back home, but cars were moving very slowly so I decided to chance it.
It was easy at first, slow but stable, until I discovered there was ice as well as snow and slid off (it was too gentle to call a fall) for the first of four times. Uphill was never a problem, but descents and sudden adverse cambers were. Downhills were a case of one foot on the ground all the way.
All in all, though, not too bad in suitable clothes and boots. Certainly easier than walking, but not much faster. A lot of time on sidewalks, grass verges, and waiting for cars to crawl past.
