I slipped on what seemed to be frozen petrol today.

Doubt it.
It would have to be significantly less than -60oC for that to happen.
Even frozen diesel is unlikely since winter diesel is usually usable (hence not frozen) down to -400C.

Well it was frozen something and it didn't look like normal ice. Perhaps I'd prefer not to know what I actually trod on!

Actually, considering it was no more than -5 at the most today, it can only have been water. Or frozen dog piss maybe. It was just the strange colour and different texture and site from the rest of the snow that gave me the strange petrol idea.

It's snowing again.  And it's supposed to go on most of the night, with a heavier period during rush hour tomorrow.

I have a feeling that tomorrow is going to be a busy day...

I am delighted to not actually have to drive anywhere for the next 2 days having had to risk life and limb to get to work over the past few days. Time to have some fun on my old MTB methinks :)

It's just started here - south cheshire. Supposed to drop 5 to 10 cm.

It's been snowing in Rugby for at least 2 1/2 hours.   It looks like it could just carry on forever.   8)

Still no SNO in York.  A hefty layer of frost though.  We're meant to be going on a (car based) adventure across the pennines then down to paddle in the sea down south.  Dearly_Beloved is getting a bit twitchy about the idea, given the doom and gloom on all the weather/news reports.

A narrow band of sno dropped 4-5" on Northamnmton this morning - just as I got there!  An hour sat on the delightfully named Lumbertubs Way, and a 2 3/4 commute in all. Still no more forecast today so should get home without too much trouble  :)

Enough of a dusting in Toytown, to cover up the footprints and ruts on the pavements.

Also, enough of a dusting to re-start the White Van Waltz on the road outside my house.  When walking home I have to just stop and watch them spin, in case I have to duck out of the way  ::-)

Warming up here. The temperature has fallen from about 4 to 0 and carried on up to 2. In town slightly dirty snow is turning into filthy, slippy slush.

BTW that's fallen as in "degrees of frost are fewer".

Just saw an item on then news; couple unable to get out of the house and down to their last slice of bread.  Worrying about food over Christmas.

Being filmed by a TV crew.  How does that work then ?

So if the couple can't get out and no one can get food in, how did the film crew get in? Ah, there are two possibilities:
Movie Magic
or
Clever Camera Tricks
