Title: Micorosoft word - cursor skipping when typing
Post by: Redlight on 13 November, 2019, 12:57:04 pm: Has anyone else experienced this?

I use Word on my (year old) laptop. I often find that when I am typing, the cursor unexpectedly jumps to another part of the page, so that what I am typing suddenly appears in the middle of something I have already written. It's a mild irritation if I notice it happening straight away but extremely annoying if I don't and I have to start cutting and pasting when I do spot that things have gone astray.

Any suggestions for causes and cures?

Post by: ian on 13 November, 2019, 01:15:52 pm: Yeah, crappy touchpads, certainly a speciality of the last Dell I had. Had to turn it off.

Alternatively, the cheap charger I bought for my ancient Macbook Air makes for jumpiness through Chinese earthing.

Caused by using MS Word

Cured by not using MS Word

Post by: Polar Bear on 04 December, 2019, 04:58:47 pm: I have had exactly the same problem in the past. Once I deactivated the touchpad and used a separate mouse all was well.
