eTrex 30 - no track logged

So all of a sudden, I'm getting no log of my track on my eTrex 30.

It was working, and I haven't changed any settings.

The last twice I've navigated using "follow Track" mode rather than "follow Route". I'm wondering if when following a track, it then isn't logging my track.

It definitely used to work on my first few rides. Although in those cases, I was either following a route, or not using the Where To feature at all.

Obviously, check your Setup/Track menu.  Cant imagine why it would have changed (profile change?) but there are three options, Log/visible, Log/invisible, Don't log.

Yep - that is all set ok, Not changed, and checked it.

The last time it happened, I had absolutely no track log - had gone completely.

This time, I just dug in the Archive folder on the device by  hand (using file explorer) - and there was a log with the right date. So it looks like the "daily save" worked.

I wonder if last time, I switched off straight after the ride, and then didn't power on again before connecting by USB to my computer. Maybe that stuffs up and doesn't save the last active log. I imagine the "auto save" happens when you power up and it notices the date has changed, so perhaps that is where the software glitch happens.
