Having been on a course of Tramadol myself for back/shoulder pain, I can state that suspicion is likely to fall on constipated cyclists.

no shit
-
Tramadol is not on the Banned list, it is a controlled drug which limits (under UK) law how prescriptions are written and how supplies are purchased.
-
Constipation you say? I'd better get some before I next do a 24 ;D
-
Don't joke about it - I was on this stuff last year.
It's not funny when it all comes out.
Though I couldn't give a shit now of course ;)
-
I once read the instructions on the packet and the list of side effects. Not something I'd rush to take if I didn't really need it.
-
Had a particularly spectacular wipe out during a Crit a couple of years back, shattering ribs front and back, and dividing the collarbone into several jigsaw pieces. Lying in bed propped up by cushions during initial recovery, tramadol was my friend.
Stopped taking them as soon as I could deal with the discomfort.
Not something to chew on just to get you through a challenging ride.
-
This all makes me think it was a good idea not to use the stuff when I got given some (arm bent over backwards at the elbow)
-
Well unless agonising pain is your thing, it does have its uses.
