Mudguard clip identification?

Can anyone identify this type of mudguard clip please?
It doesn't want to stay secure any more!

Thanks for your reply. That doesn't look the same as what I have, and are they not just for the metal stays to push into? Mine have a plastic clip on the end that needs to go into the 'clip'?

This isn't going to help ::-)

A long time ago, I came across that very clip - as far as I can recall, it was on a bottom tier Dawes or somesuchlike with 'no name' mudguards.

Okay, I think what you have is an off-brand copy of an SKS Secu-clip, which has separated into its component pieces. You should be able to replace it with the SKS item – remove the plastic gubbins from the stays and then simply push them into the Secu-clip. They will click in and should not come out unless forced to do so by a stone, stick or similar.

M Part Primoplastics use a similarly badly-designed clip that will release if you hit the right kind of bump.  Glue is sometimes the only answer.  It's a toss up between getting a stick caught in the tyre, or getting a loose mudguard caught in the tyre.

If the stay or clip releases too easily, try putting a bit of thin plastic (eg plastic bag or wrapping) in between the two parts.

That's an SKS Secu-Clip.

They list two sizes. First I've heard of alternatives. Anyone know how to tell which I have?

I wasn't aware of that. Would it refer to the diameter of the stays?

That is exactly what it is. Just measure the stay diameter.
