New toy. (Actually arrived a couple of weeks ago, but forgot to post). It's heavy, but very well made. Need to remove all the grease it's shipped in, and give the blade a once over on the diamond stones.

They do some nice spokeshaves too, by the look of it, and less than half the price of my Veritas.
I've dusted off all those old bottles and set them up straight

Very nice. I am interested in why though when you can pick up a good usable Stanley or Record No 4 from any car boot sale in the land for about £10.
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

Cos carboot sales do not exist here.

And before you get jealous its only 4s and 110s that are really common. You see an occasional 5 and I waited years for a 7.

Hmmm, electric bike with no charger or key. Let me think about that for a moment. Provenance?

Oh yeah.... for some reason I saw the box and pedals off and thought "new"

Today I saw someone in a YouTube video use the left edge of a digital vernier calliper to measure the depth of a step, and my mind was blown a little.

The oft forgotten way to use Vernier calipers. Very useful when you need it.

In other news Santa Pingu got me a Makita combi drill driver :)

Nope, I love them. A 12 piece small screwdriver set (73675) is always in my bag for disassembling electronics stuff (though I've now supplemented with and ifixit Mako set for some more obscure bits in a reasonable metal).
A 1/2" Zyklop ratchet replaced my 1980s Kamasa one last year.

Bahco is my other goto - their ratchet spanners and big socket sets are brilliant. The Bahco 2058/s26 mini set is so good I've bought a couple more so I have one in my work bag, one in my bike stuff, and one at home.

There is a Kamasa socket set in the cupboard under the workbench at Fort Larrington.  Or rather it says “Kamasa” on the tin box it lives in, but given it was bought in Hong Kong almost fifty years ago it may well be an antique Chineseum knockoff instead.

Not just you.  I haz them.  (Specifically, hex and torx rainbow allen keys of loveliness, and a set of the precision screwdrivers for electronicals.)

In a similar vein, Knipex.  Particularly the Super Knips.
