I saw her at the Boardwalk when she was touring her first album (which I never bought even though I liked the concert).
I think I've seen her since but, without looking through years of diaries, I can't be sure.

I hope this doesn't sound like a pissing contest (not my intention) but I find her stuff rather variable.

"variable" sums up the stuff I've heard. The recent single was good, and Down By the Water is an offbeat classic.

She's been on the box-without-pictures recently plugging the new album; she does NOT sound how I expected! Here's an interview (with pictures):
