Bloody wet today. Pretty much non-stop rain, sometimes thunderously heavy. Mrs B was dodging flooded roads & stuck in crawling traffic on her way home.

Seems to have stopped at last.

Yesterday's ride: started with 17°C, maxed at 32°, averaged 26°. Meanwhile, chum in Kelso is enthusing about 22° in the shade.

Cloudy here today, though. Still, shorts & sandals are still adequate.

Awakened just after midnight by a whacking great bang followed by the plaintive beep of the UPS. Torrential rain with further celestial effing & blinding ensued. Unplugged everything and went back to sleep, sort of.

15°C and still pissing down, now - our drive isn't yet awash but it's working on it.

It's now hot enough to be worth wrestling the fucked sash window open.  I think that makes it officially summer.

Massive thunderstorm going on right now. Sounds like a war zone out there....
Those wonderful norks are never far from my thoughts, oh yeah!

'Tis the same everywhere. The rivers in the Yorkshire Dales are all showing their bottoms - as it were.

Yebbut torrential rain mostly runs off with only a fraction being absorbed. It's long-term gentle rainfall that soaks in.

We've just had 30mm in about 1.5 hours.

I expect that decent cycling weather will continue until my wounds have healed...

Nary a drop in leafy Surrey.  Good idea to go away for the weekend.

Is raintoday.co.uk borked for everyone? I think it's a googlemaps API key thingy, so Presumably I can't fix it at this end?

What's the best free alternative? I loved raintoday radar map  :'(

Bloody hell! I spend 10 days in Provence with the temperature reaching high 20s/low 30s every day. Now I'm home. 10°C, pissing down and blowing a hoolie.

I'm going back.

Well that's the more blunt way of putting it but as usual he's dead right.

Bah. Awake at 5am tethering the swing seat in the garden to its frame.

I could find bungee cords but they're old and the thought of it snapping and wanging the hook into the patio window was too much to bear.

I know I have proper straps somewhere but no idea which box in the spare room.

Then I came across the box of inner tubes wot need repairing. A couple of those chopped in half and job's a good'un.

I hope. We'll see when I get home.

First "proper" rain we've had in a long long time. Hour after hour of stair-rods. I can't event remember the last time it rained like this.

We've had that, pulse-width modulated down to light drizzle.  Impressive how much drama you can get from so little water.

Combined with some scary gusting wind, it's not been a good day to ride a bike.

Enjoying much more sensible temperatures here today. I see that's not the case further South.

Sometimes, proximity to the North Sea is a Good Thing - though usually it involves Fog.
