We're promised 34°C for Thursday & Friday with the temperature not going below 20°C at night. Going to be living behind closed windows & shutters with fans going.

My workshop is usually nice & cool, though.
I've dusted off all those old bottles and set them up straight

It is pleasantly cool in St. Andrews.

Just back after a few weeks in the tropics. I don't think it's rained at all judging by the garden. And my balcony roses have died. Was looking forward to a bit of cool. On the plus side, heat is a lot better without the humidity (and obligatory developing world traffic fumes).

Thunderbolts and lightning!

There are thunderstorms rumbling by though they'd deftly sidestepping my valley. Which means I'll probably have to water the garden again. Which means critters will bite me.

It was raining on and off for an hour or so earlier this afternoon in Pompey, and it looks like there could be more to come this evening.

In fact, it's just started again as I type...

Gave up and went outside with the hose.

Torrential rain and thunder now, of course.

Lordy. It's a bit full on out there - y'know, when the rain bypasses the gutters and just comes of the roof in one sheet.

well, that got rather interesting rather quickly, and not interesting in a good way, more interesting in a holy carp, I may be about to die kind of way.

Out for what I thought was a quick ride, looked fairly clear after rain this morning, with a bit of a decent breeze.  Turned for the southward leg, definite headwind, decent workout and then I spotted a line of storms on the horizon headed my way.  When I hit one village, just a slight change of direction and all of a sudden I had bits of fen hitting me in the face, winds threatening to take the bike out from under me or push me across the road into oncoming traffic and twonks overtking far too close.  It had gone from interesting to the kind of conditions I would not head out into in the space of less than 5 minutes, along with a temperature drop from 34 to 20 celcius.  And then the rain came.

I ddn't stop for a waterproof, nowhere to sheleter and no point, stair rods, so bloody quick I was drenched in minutes.

Just heard a loud crash. A section of gutter appears to have fallen off. Not used to having wet stuff in it I guess.
There's no vibrations, but wait.

OMG.  Wind!  Remember wind?
Alerted by the sound of a pot plant blowing over by the open window,  I looked out to see one of those Spielberg boiling cloud scenes (but without the aliens).  Run round 4 floors shutting windows and generally battening hatches.

Bugger.  I'll probably have to start cutting the lawn again soon.

Noticeably cooler, but no rain as yet in this bit of the Midlands.

That's odd.  It's all quietened down again.  Rain didn't happen.
