For those of who may not be aware, I have taken over organising most of John Thompson’s Audaxes (many thanks to him for his amazing guidance and support) starting near Lowestoft.
So I am pleased to announce The ACME - Suffolk Branch Audaxes for 2024 are now in the calendar. Details and links to enter below:

This ride initially goes through many narrow, quiet and pretty lanes through the Waveney valley taking in quiet and picturesque villages. If you perceive all East Anglia as completely flat, you might be surprised how undulating the Waveney valley is. That said, the hills are short and hardly major feats but you might be a little surprised by the steepness of one or two of them. There are some surprisingly nice views from the top of the hills.

‘The Broadsman 100km’
The route takes you through much of The Broads National Park, including Hickling, Hoveton, Wroxham, Salhouse and Ranworth. It includes a number of quiet lanes and picturesque villages, particularly Woodbastwick (look out for the Wherry real ales brewery) and a ferry ride at Reedham.

A ride generally through the gentler parts of Norfolk, but along many quiet and pleasant lanes ,including parts of the Broads national park, picturesque villages and attractive market towns.

The route offers a bit of everything that is nice about Norfolk - the Broads, the hillier and scenic north Norfolk, and the north Norfolk coastal village of Stiffkey and attractive market towns, finishing on gentle terrain along the flatter but still pleasant and quiet lanes of south Norfolk.

‘The Silly Suffolk 100km’
'Perks' include passing the St Peter's real ale brewery with a chance to buy 'produce' if you have time and the village store at Peasenhall (32 km) that usually has very tasty and big (!) sausage rolls.
Particularly picturesque villages are Saxted Green with its olde-worlde windmill and the Waveney valley villages of Wingield and Mendham.

Lovely route with a few slight 'upward' surprises but there are no hills to speak of. Try something a bit different in a unique peaceful and gentle corner of the British Isles. Quiet lanes, parts of the suffolk Sandlings AONB, the Suffolk churches and Suffolk Coastal cycle routes and Dunwich, Tunstall forests, sleepy picturesque villages and the pretty market towns of Eye and Framlingham (with a castle) and the windmill at Saxted Green.
