The ALC bunch are a relatively small subset of the regular Long Itchers.  And as Kim says, they'll likely try to do both.

Will you be coming to Long Itch then Pedders?

Can someone bring me up to speed? I thought we were doing 11th~13th.

#1 son has his 18th birthday on the 20th, so that weekend is a no-no.

Help! Confuzzled and discombobulated . . .

That was the original plan.

Then some royals announced they were going to have a wedding.

It's a long-standing[1] tradition for YACF to have a camping weekend on royal weddings, with a view to providing a beer-and-bikes-based excuse for avoiding as much bunting and tedious tabloid telly as possible.  Polar Bear therefore mooted the idea of moving the May Long Itch camping trip to the following weekend.

Various people have then commented with their likely availability on the new date, in the hope that it might turn out to be an unambiguously good (or unambiguously bad) idea.  No chance.  Faffers gonna faff.

OK. Got it. Thanks, Kim.

Whilst I admire the 'not the royal wedding' weekend concept as a thing, it can't be done without transplanting the whole family to Long Itch. Not happening . . .

We'll obviously be at the ALC AGM, as I'm chairing it. It will probably be a Royal Wedding free weekend. We would certainly try and make Long Itch too if it was the previous weekend.

Further observation:  It's already been noted that the Royal Weeding clashes with some sort of major sportsball event.  This would seem like a suboptimal time to be loitering within pubbe.

Agreed Kim.   We might be at a different location though depending upon Loadsabikes and other factors.

So am I correct in thinking the 'plan' is to have consecutive Long Itch weekends in May?

I'm sorry to appear thick/pedantic/obsessive about it but I'm committed to 18th-20th May already. A coming of age is a significant thing, when it's your first born doubly so . . .

Just the one Long Itch in May.  Will be the weekend of 12th.  Venue is uncertain but will be in or near to Rugby.

More Long Itch in July and September, hopefully at Wing and Silverdale respective.

Long Itch on Tour is turning into a barn raising? Like Harrison Ford in Witness?  :o

Okay, I was wondering yesterday, what if any are the dates at which I might be able to turn up at Long Itch and spend some time with Yacfers eating chips, drinking bears, dancing with beers, that sort of thing?

AFAIK the dates punted in the OP haven't changed.

The venue might but, as yet, we don't have any details.

I think our glorious leader needs to update us.

Date for Long Itch in May is 11th to 13th.   Venue is as per usual due to the potential new venue not being ready in time.

Info about the ride and any other activities will be forthcoming in due course.
