Help! Anyone accredited for Newport Velodrome?
« on: 25 February, 2022, 02:43:08 pm »
We're testing some secret hardware (actually not so secret, it's for https://bodyrocket.cc) at Newport Velodrome Monday/Tuesday next week and have just been told we have to have an accredited coach there. Obviously not asking for it for free, we will pay/cover costs/accomodation - can anyone help us out? If so, please PM on here - thanks.

Edit: And I assume the rules there allow coaches to ride, should be plenty of free time for that while we swear at computers  :)

Will not one of the local coaches be willing to do it? Just speaking from my experience at Glasgow where there is always a coach around during the drop-in sessions, and I assume they'll be open to a little moonlighting. Unless Newport works differently in which case, I'll shut up.
I am often asked, what does YOAV stand for? It stands for Yoav On A Velo

Thanks, we think we might have found a local coach who's available now (we're not local to Newport, normally we test at Preston Park).

As I understand it, Newport couldn't provide one because everyone is busy prepping for the National Track championships there in March. Having an ex-Olympian (able-bodied pilot of paralympian tandem) on the team isn't enough, it seems (and to be fair, our bikes are bristling with computers and sensors).

Local coach couldn't make it, so we're still looking (for background, I'm helping a Brighton-based startup who are developing a system that displays how aero you are in realtime, e.g. on a Garmin) Thanks for reading!

Try 42 degrees coaching. He’s based at Newport, and a thoroughly good bloke
