Cheapskate.

Interesting that Mrs Cameron doesn't appear to have been involved in the transaction. If my partner wants a new car I'd want her to choose it even if I was paying.
I suspect it's an attempt at looking normal rather than a genuine transaction. She'll probably really be driving around in something expensive and German.

It's Call-Me-Dave showing he's part of the lumpen proletariat, the veritable man on the Clapham omnibus, etc. etc. All BS, of course, we all know she quite capable of popping out and buying a new Range Rover on the way to lunch.

I bet it's a third or fourth car for them, possibly so SamCam can have a city car and a country car.  If it's a 1.2, hopefully Dave knows how to spot the signs of a worn big end; the Mk3 Micra is too heavy for the power available (I had one for 18 months), the engines get thrashed and an unsympathetic driver who expects the car to pull cleanly at 35mph in fifth will turn the bearings oval.
Hard work sometimes pays off in the end, but laziness ALWAYS pays off NOW.

I don't imagine his PR attempts require him to consider the actual mechanics of his PR 'vehicle'/vehicle.

You beat me to this! I posted it in 'Where the Wild Things Are'.

I'm afraid I do see this a faintly newsworthy.

The person in the furry suit?

I used to have a huge crush on a girl who was mad about that show. She had a massive doberman named Alf after the show. It wasn't cuddly and it didn't like me. I'd turn up to pick her up. No sign of Alf. Get out of car. Alf would appear from nowhere, stand, drooling and snarling head level with my crotch, teeth bared and about 4" away. "Um, Debbie, could you call Alf off, please". She thought it hilarious. Alf never bit anyone as long as they didn't move.

Kim, you're not a million miles away with your comment to Wow:  "Farewell Angelina" was a popular Dylan song, recorded by Joan Baez in the 60s.  I'm sure some paper with an aged editor will have run "Farewell Brangelina".  May even have been done on this thread - I haven't read it all!
