RAF Airbus 400M just flew down the loch at only 175ft altitude.

Erm, that's lower than many of the surrounding hills.

Took off from Elgin, been flying close to ground through Skye, through the loch valleys of Harris and Lewis ('through' not over). Then Buzzed stornoway airport.

Now doing a pass over the middle of Lewis, still sticking to no more than 150ft off the deck.

Low level flight training?

I think it used to be the case that bikes weren't allowed on the cable car at weekends as it was too busy.

But it appears that now their current practice on the cable car is not to put strangers in the same cabin anyway, so bikes are allowed at weekends but there will be a long queue. Unfortunately new tall buildings have gone up to the west of the crossing and the views of London are not as good as they were.

Probably the foot tunnel is still best at weekends.

...be careful if you do head towards York though, the road past the railway station is closed for the full weekend (this weekend and next!) for the preparation work for the demolition of Queen Street bridge. The city centre will be absolutely manic - more so than usual!
(That's absolutely closed closed, not even pedestrians can get through!)

Doylys is a good call, though.

Up and down Nidderdale would be a canny ride, you can probably reach the hills around Pateley, or head towards York if you prefer something flatter.

Wetherby's a pretty good stop with its famous chippy, or there's a decent wee cafe at Bolton Percy if that's not too far.

And don't forget to call in Spa Cycles!

A spin off from the lastpost; is Sugru available anywhere? Tesa has sold out and the only "suppliers" that I have seen recently are Ebay sharks.
There have been supply chain issues with it for some months now.
ETA - Depending on what you are using it for, Milliput could be a possible alternative.

Thanks. I will investigate. Meanwhile, Black Tack looks useful.
Main difference with Milliput is that its 2-part and sets rigid - it lacks the rubbery feel of Sugru.
