Title: Yet Another GPS Question

Say you ride to an event, ride the event, ride home.

How do you split that up into 3 separate activities? Do you do it in the GPS unit (I have Garmin 705) or on the website you upload to (Strava or Garmin Connect).

Hold the lap button down for 3-4 seconds to do a reset between each section (to/event/fro).

Each section (to/event/from) will then be in a separate gpx file in the history folder on the device.

Works for me on my Edge 705.

I don't know any recommendations for splitting up a single GPX file that contains all 3 sections; I do it by hand as I understand the underlying file format enough to do that manually.

Exactly right from Greenbank.

Certainly what I do for ECEs etc. (so I have the "to" and "from" files to send over to Martin).

Sometimes you think something will be complicated and it's not.

However when I was riding with some pals from my club last night I was happy to let their talk of bridging it to the break at such and such a wattage output waft far away over my head  :D
