E Minor got a cheque from his dealer (he makes jewellery). He sold more pieces than his Mum!

Not bad for thirteen.

My temp contract finished today but I have an interview at a pleasantly-commutable place on Monday.
Fingers crossed I don't damage myself with all that beer-and-bikes over the weekend.

Looks like I'll be starting a new job on December 6th ;D

Since i was interviewed by the Man In Charge, I'm fairly confident that he's not an ego-stroking megalomaniac and better still, they haven't 'lost' a member of staff for nearly 2 years

Better still, my commute will go from 4-and-a-bit miles to just over 10 miles :)

Ah, congratulations!  And that means you can come out on the 3rd, since you'll have time to recover  ;)

I'll be out on the 3rd anyway, since I'll have a pannier full of STUFF to give to various people in return for portraits of the Queen ;D

I have just spoken to my brother. He told me that he was a winner of a recent Observer "Everyman" crossword competition and has netted the kudos of winning, £15 in book tokens, and this round of applause. I haven't seen a hard copy and I couln;t find the winers on line, but his enry was attributed to David Walker, of Billericay.

He also mentioned that he has won, on at least 5 occasions, the Chemistry Society (I may have the name wrong) crossword competition, and they give £25 in book tokens.

Our dad occasionally won crossword competitions. I remember him winning a bottle of Knockando whisky, and apparently he also won a leather wallet. I think one was with the Times, the other the Telegraph.

Thank you WB. It's been 5 years since the dear Mrs Q passed away and for a while I wondered if I'd ever get sorted out again, but here I am and it's brilliant and she's fantastically lovely.

And she has a bike.

And more competitions - Little Cudzo has had a poster printed in Dinomite magazine. He previously won a set of Beast Quest books from a competition in the same magazine.
