Just to the west of Witham, in Essex, there is a very minor road yclept Dancing Dicks Lane.

It has been my honour and privilege to record this fact on Open Street Map.

This is fantastic.
It makes me wish I had GPS so I could add Skirl Naked, which leads to Happy Valley, in Northumberland.

My Mum is getting a ginger kitten. We're calling her Daisy (the kitten, that is).

Wonderful!

A thump on the doormat reveals - I have been accepted at the University to finish my degree!  More of  my own time taken up, which is less time for cycling; but I was worried I'd left it too close to the deadline.  I'm really happy about this.  So I've got the job I always wanted, a wonderful Juggler to share my life, and my kids are doing OK.  Plus a fantastic hobby, and a chance to do some academic stuff as well.  How blessed am I?

Excellent, Mr & Mrs j.
Does this mean you will both be coming up to Kirriemuir next year?  :)
It's a bit weird, but actually quite wonderful.

At the present time it is unlikely that Mrs. J will ever be able to ride more than a few miles without the use of a Honda Goldwing tandem but we are exploring various options to allow her to extend her range,
Simultaneously she is persevering with her efforts to overcome her knee & spine problems.

She still enjoys being involved in the cycling scene & likes to be at York & Mildenhall rallies & she is likely to join me with assisting at the Mille Cymru start/finish venue at Upton Magna village hall.
She may be at Kirriemuir next year but not to ride. She is curious to see what the post ride enthusiasm was about, paricularly those bridies :)

Baking is occurring & I've been promoted to senior kitchen gofor :)

Update: Furhter promotion to basic egg-beater
The first mix has been bowl-licked
Further promotion to chief bowl washer

Further update:
Negotiations are underway concerning the number of cakes to be produced.I have offered my body(such a sacrifice for the benefit of fellow YACFers is a nobble cause n'est pas) as an incentive but the "other party" has a differring opinion of the value of such currency ::-)
Does anyone have a contact number for Dr. Kissinger?

Thoughts of a basic egg-beater.  An Egg leads a shell-tered life & when it sees the light is then beaten to death.
Having beaten one dozen eggs I have been further promoted to eggbeater NVQ Level 1.

Another update
The second mix has been bowl-licked & I have been further promoted to Superintendent Bowl Washer

INTERMISSION  Away to the supermarket for more victuals

Another update. Grand-daughter has pulled rank & bowl-licked the third mix.

Another update. The fourth mix has been done & bowl-licking performed in my absence ::-)

There cakes here, cakes there & cakes everywhere. We have...
2x chocolate sponge cakes with chocolate icing
2x fruit cakes
1x lemon drizzle cake
1x cherry cobblestone cake

I wonder when the cakes for York & Mildenhall will be baked :demon:

My (non-cycling) daughter phoned yesterday to say she has a First in Psychology Finals from Cambridge!
She had to secure a 2:1 to start her first job in September.

(they now send results by Email at 0800h - no hanging around peering over shoulders at noticeboards)
still uncertain, she has to call her room-mate to say "does this mean I've got a First?'

We're all woop-ing here in West Wales!
