I used to use 7 day shop own brand "good to go" rechargeable AA and AAA cells, last purchased a few years ago.  They no longer seem to do these, so what are the panel's recommendations? Use is bike lights, front and rear. I have a smartish charger.

Eneloop.  We run scores of these things including in bike lights.

Phone the guy up, (it's a one man outfit) - He loves talking about batteries. Srsly.
I recently spent around £75.00 with him, replacing all of my batteries, most of which dated back to 2006.
ETA Battery Man recons that Fujitsu are going to stop making these soon. I stocked up.

Further to the above options, Ikea's white Ladda batteries are made in the same Japanese factory as Eneloops. Not made to the same standards (at least according to some) but a lot cheaper and most of the test reports I can find online are very positive. I bought a load in July to replenish my own AA & AAA stocks having tested the batteries I had & recycled the weaker ones. Haven't used any of them yet but I'm not expecting any problems.
+1 for Mr Battery Logic. Nice guy to deal with. My Technoline BC-1000 had a problem, replaced under warranty without any bother.
