What was it like in the Olden Days, Daddy?

Newcastle 2 - Everton 1

Two throwbacks here:-

1. I can't remember when The Lads last beat a team in the top 2 - not counting today!

2. When did a Premiership team last include 7 British (I think) players in its starting eleven?*  (Happy to be shot down over this!)

Edit:  * and ended with 9!

And your favourite player travelled to the match on the same corporation bus as you.
Admission.  I'm actually not that fussed about cake.

Basil, just reading the phrase "corporation bus" moistens my eye!  I work for the local council and enjoy asking for a corporation biro and so on.

Yesterday. Burnley started with 9 English players (and an Irishman and a New Zealander) against Chelsea.

I hope you remembered your parachute.

Salvatore, that's excellent!  And though Burnley are only just a Premiership side, I am coming in on a wing and a prayer (the wing being the legendary Bobby Mitchell and the prayer that The Lads also remain a Premiership side - but not one owned by Saudi murderers....).
