I can't see what the issue is here, other than how squeamish people have become. When you buy chicken portions in a supermarket, they have had all the giblets removed so people are unused to meeting the dark red bits from the chicken, it's all very sanitised. The stuff supplied to KFC doesn't get this as it's cheaper to get the staff in the kitchen to deal with the stuff (you scrape it out with your thumb from behind the bones) than to buy the chicken pre gutted. In this case it looks like they missed a bit.

I'd be more worried about the fact that the chicken had been cooked in a pressurised deep fat fryer - all that oily fatness being forced into the chicken under pressure!

[eta] Using the scraps recovered from the oil filters as the base for gravy would be higher on my list as well.

The brain depicted in the photo is clearly much larger than both that of a chicken, and also that of Mr Humphries.

It's chicken isn't it. Not sure where the problem is here really.

Since it's a kidney, sadly not.

He had to take a few days off work to recover?   He better watch he doesn't cut a finger or he could be off until 2014

It didn't look at all like that in the photographs

I was coerced into buying my kids KFC yesterday. No brains or kidney found, but it was the saltiest, greasiest shite I've had in a long time. They even have to give you a little finger wipe to clean up with after.

You must tell us how you manage to eat it with only one finger......

He may not be stupid if he gets compensation out of it, just greedy.  I was defending the "compensation culture" on another thread, but this case is pushing it.

So what do we think?  Brain or kidney?

Looks too big for a chiken's brain.
Is he sure it wasn't HIS brain, that had fallen out?   ;)

Not kidney, as I reckon a chicken kidney is kidney. Looks a bit like intestine, but there is too much of it, too thin. On the basis I don't actually recognise it (and I think I would if it was part of the inside) I'd vote for BRANE.

edit

Nah. On second thoughts it does look familiar, probably changed by the cooking. Some bit of innards.

I'm amazed that anyone who eats regularly at KFC can have their stomach turned by anything.

I had to take days off work because I was feeling so sick and I have lost money.

If I was his employer, I'd sack him.

I mean, taking more than one day off for finding a fast food snack not to your satisfaction? And for spending a few quid on said snack? Prick.

Edit: Oh, he's self employed. That means he couldn't be arsed to do any work then...

On the plus side at least it's chicken. And not something like a pigeon or rat.

I'm not sure I'd eat a rat, but what's wrong with pigeon, as long as it's properly farmed or a  healthy wild pigeon? Apart from if you sell something as chicken, then it's got to be chicken.
