Mistake. As two F-4s took off from Valley. I got the photo and lost my eyebrows - and a goodly portion of late 70s big hair.

That reminds me of a scene from Catch-22, except it wasn't a jet and no-one died.

Unlike Roger de Cadenet (I think) in this bit of footage.
When you watch for the second time, check out how much daylight there is between the 'plane and it's shadow on the grass below.
Not very much at all.

Those of you who are fans of the sound of a Merlin will enjoy this anyway....

I remember that.  It's from a nice aviation program he used to present on one of the satellite channels years ago (although it's Alain de Cadenet).  Father of the vacuous Amanda.
