I've just been out to my local Polski Sklep for my weekly fix.
The blossom is out in force today.
The force is strong.

We had Krakus pickled cucumbers as kids, or Nova pickles in tins, from Czechoslovakia.

Mostly have Mrs Elswood's1 offerings now, which, I think, are imported from the Netherlands.

Brimstone flutterby, and the first of the wild daffodils and primroses.
I don't count garden varieties, of which the daffs have been out for 3 or 4 weeks.

And also, last weekend, the Nordseecross in Middelkerke being contested in shorts and short sleeves (and half unzipped tops).

A marked reduction in the number of birds visiting our feeders. No sign of the wagtail, long tailed tits or blackcaps for the last week, and far fewer bluetits, great tits and goldfinches. They must be finding enough insects out and about now.

David & I made a day trip to Peterborough Crematorium to bid farewell to his Aunt Rita.
We saw:

Big bumblebees in HA8
Next door neighbours' magnolia breaking bud.
A green haze covering the branches of many of the trees we saw from the train.
Cherry trees and other fruit trees in full blossom.
Daisies on the lawn at the Crematorium.
Ants crawling over the stones in the Crematorium Gardens.

Heard many birdies...

Geese flying overhead.  Heading due north.
Admission.  I'm actually not that fussed about cake.

Mirabelle plum blossoms opened today.
Next door's fruit tree has been a mass of white blossom for a few days; can't recall if it's peach or pear.

It is raining intermittently now.

There seems to be a massive amount of catkins this year. Or perhaps I've never noticed them before.

Serenaded by singing ribbits in my neighbours pond this morning.

IRTA "singing rabbits" and wondered what that sounded like.

ETA: "Mep[1] mep mep, mep mep-mep, mep, mep-mep-mep *thump-thump-thump*..."[2] presumably.

[1] Baby barakta, when learning about animal noises, did the overly-literal deaf child thing and refused to believe that rabbits didn't make a sound.  So her mum made one up.

They are lambs tails here but yeah they are really abundant this year.
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

Getting woken up by the Jackdaws building, well trying to, a nest in our chimney. Various sticks getting dumped into it and then falling down all the way to the metal heat plate in the living room.

Frog spawn in our pond this morning.
Usually we hear the frogs calling beforehand, but they got on with it quietly this year for some reason.
