And the BBC has just announced the death of Robert Vaughn.

2016: just stop it.

<not a joke> AFAIK, he's still alive, playing a medical examiner on the NCIS TV series. </not a joke>

He is. I Googled just to make sure, and I was surprised that he was born only a year after RV. In TMFU he was always portrayed as being much younger.

Indeed, he's quoted as being very gutted about it.  He's a fair bit younger than Vaughn I think.

Always enjoyed Vaugnh's acting bits and bobs, aside from Hustle which I hated but that wasn't his fault.  Man from Uncle, being the best.  RIP.

Can 2016 stop now please.

Simulpost, only a 1 year younger, that'll be Man from Uncle that led to that impression then.

And if he'd gone just a couple of days earlier, he'd have missed Trumpocalypse.  How unfair.

Someone on b3ta did a rather lovely photoshop earlier this week of the Sgt Pepper album cover, featuring all the public figures who had died in 2016...and it's already looking badly out of date.

AWL otp did a similar thing on a T-shaped shirt a few years ago; all the faces were those who'd died after being name-checked in Half Man Half Biscuit songs.  Geoff Davis, the nearest thing Half Man Half Biscuit have to a manager, was Not Happy.

Why are Leicester city on that?  Wasn't that a good thing?  For Leicester at least surely this has been a good year.

I think the stuff in the foreground is just general background, rather than related to any individual.  Of course, Trumpocalypse should be on there too.

When RV appeared in Corrie, Mrs M had no idea who he was. The man from Uncle says I.
IIRC you could actually buy toy guns that were similar to those used in the show.
He was one cool dude.

Funny about RV. Not his dying, he was entering the exit box anyway.  But his Napoleon Solo was unconvincing, and in everything else I saw him in he was Napoleon Solo.  And he always had a bit too much salad-dressing on his hair.

They said on France Info that he was also a musician, and even played some of his stuff.  He was a decent actor though.
