what to do in Lichfield?
« on: 09 March, 2011, 01:02:24 pm »
As the title says what's there to do here  ;D
I'm up here this week for work (actually Barton) and I'm in a hotel to the south side Lichfield.
I'll likely go for a wander around the cathedral area at some point and also have plans to go out on the bike with another recumbent rider up here.
If anyone fancies a meet/drink at some point we can see how many we could get out, you will have to help me with locations though as I'll get lost  ;D

Jim Hopper lives not very far north of Lichfield, though he's not on the forum (usually on his trike).  fungus and marmitegeoff live in Tamworth, not far away.
Wheel meet again, don't know where, don't know when...

The National Memorial Arboretum Is just down the road, then from there there's a nice ride to the Forestry centre in Rosliston.

A little further afield, Cannock Chase is worth a visit if you haven't been.

Lichfield Garrick > An Evening with Diane Abbott

Or failing that, could you pop into my Dad's (directly opposite the Garrick) to make sure he hasn't fallen out of bed?  It would save me one trip this week.
Admission.  I'm actually not that fussed about cake.

Should've put I'm only up here in the week :)
Had a quick wander around by the cathedral today and will get out on the bike tomorrow as I'm finishing about 3 so will get a ride in at least.

OK, go and look at, or in if you are so inclined, the only example I've ever seen of three pubs next door to each other in a conjoined line.

They're in Tamworth Street.

Visit cathedral. Didn't they joust there in the middle ages or some such.....there was/is a great old fashioned fish and chip cafe up the road in Rugeley.
