What were the highs and lows of your week?
« on: 09 March, 2012, 06:08:15 pm »
High - finding out that my son will be meeting a legend in the field of photography next month.

Low - work in general  >:(  Been doing the job too long and in the main it is dull, dull, dull - time to seriously consider a change me thinks.

Mine are as follows.

Low - suffering badly from brain weasels / black dog on Tuesday & Wednesday this week.

High - getting feedback from my college lecturer that my essay on "Integrated Land Management at Mar Lodge" was the best essay on the subject at an National Certificate level that he
had seen in his 20 years of teaching!  So I got a nice beemer   :-[ and a round of applause from my class mates.      :smug:

Lows: 16 hours in the office on Wednesday and 13 hours on Thursday.

Highs: I commuted in via bike for the first time in over 2 months. When I left this evening it was for the last time...for a week.

High - after six years of trying, the car has finally broken the 40mpg barrier, which isn't bad for something with an official combined mpg of 31.

Low - last night was somewhat disturbed because Miss Z the younger has some sort of virus (sore throat and temperature).  She's fine when the Calpol kicks in but miserable when it wears off.
Hard work sometimes pays off in the end, but laziness ALWAYS pays off NOW.

high - [first ever] morning commute on thursday.  What a great way to start a day.

lows - my mum breaking a rib, after breaking her hip a couple of weeks ago, after her fifth hip replacement 3 months back.  Rheumatoid Arthritis is a bastard.

Low: being told on Monday that I would not be working on the project that is the professional development I have been seeking for 4 years. Also that I would not be going to live in Mumbai for 6-8 months for said project.

Highs: Cycling home from work on Tuesday for the first time in months. Being told on Thursday that the client has dictated that the project (see low) must be undertaken in the UK not India and that I am therefore a key team member with a steep learning curve ahead.
