So...the peloton is dispersed?

I'll go out tonight...probably. The rain should have stopped by then [tho' I'll be out in it for a bit this morning].

Work and home stuff a bit to Random to know how it will all pan out today. If I manage to get out I think I might just aim for The Compasses to inquire about the Green Room and Camping for January......Will try and update plans later on

I was going to try and get out - dependent on home commitments.  I don't think I can face the ride to the Compasses and back again so soon after Friday so will probably give it a miss and save myself for next week.

I'll trundle up to our spiritual home again then - probably need to leave by 10pm though.

I really want one of those traffic cone outfits. They make my hat look desperately inadequate!

Yes, the new Mighty Oak micropub in Maldon was indeed suggested on Facebook. I also suggested the Blackwater Rail Trail  :demon:

Mighty Oak Taproom well before 9 [I can do that if I leave Dunmow before 7]...then another venue? Carpenter's Arms last time we visited the Farmer's Yard on that sort of schedule.

Maldon's newest micropub has a website.  Since they shut as 9pm another venue would be good, the Carpenters is a good shout.

I have a Maldon pubs ROUTE which the Witham peloton used back in February 2013.  It could easily incorporate the BRT on the way back  :demon:  But if anyone has a better idea I'm happy to suck a wheel.

I notice your route is 20 miles to Maldon High Street, so you'd need to be setting off somewhat earlier than 7:30 (or cracking on up North Hill at Alex Dowsett pace) to get there significantly before they close at 9.

ETA: You could cut out the Cock Clarks, Pureigh section, and hang a left on The Ridge onto Runsell Lane, picking up the Old London Road approach to Maldon to cut out some mileage.  (Probably only saves 4 miles though, so ~1hr 10 at typical MEMWNS pace, with arrival outside the pub around 8:40 - so still quite tight with faff time etc.)
You are in a maze of twisty flat droves, all alike.

Good point, pubs closing at 9pm is very confusing. Fuckit, let's just ride straight there like we did last time.

Or we could go with the Danbury Doggers suggestion and ride your route in reverse which seems a good idea.
We could then wing it a bit with no advanced planning  :o for the return home incorporating the BRT for those that wish to do so :-\

Probably not at all.  We are in the middle of the visiting sixth forms routine and have another open evening tomorrow night.  If I get back at a reasonable time I might sneak to the Carpenters. Market Hill should be ideal on fixed

Looks like you have been looking through the DL book of excuses.....  :( OD won't be pleased! Market Hill on fixed no problem just look at Mssr's Oaky & Tomsk they make it look like a walk in the park.

Coud you not find a sixth form in Maldon to visit tomorrow night to make things easier?

You told me OD was just your deputy so why should he be bothered ?

Oaky and Tomsk are in no way comparable.  They are both fools who ride foolish bikes  :P  I am just a trainee fool.
