Title: Glorious 39
Post by: citoyen on 15 August, 2011, 12:53:34 am
Did anyone watch it? I caught the last five minutes and it looked utterly shite.

What is it about Poliakoff? Every time he has a new film out, it gets heavily trailed with reverential treatment, as if it's some momentous work of historic significance, and yet it always turns out to be a load of inscrutable, ponderous, tedious and thoroughly pretentious drivel.

Emperor's new clothes syndrome? Or am I missing something?

Just finished watching.  I give it a resounding 'meh'.

It was awful. The atmosphere was good, but the plot was lame and the ending feeble in the extreme.

The best thing of Poliakoff's is "Perfect Strangers" IMO.
