I am crafting an early escape from work so I will likely catch up with you at The Bell or possibly see you somewhere on the way.
Shortcut through Faulkbourne to Black Notley or Cressing to intercept us?

I have decided that we shall be following the 30 mile route option, or at least I will.
The Bell, Feering, 30 miles

I have my newly refurbished bike to give its first proper ride this evening.  Harry hand built wheels with dynohub, new tyres & disc rotors, new cassette & chain, fully functioning front & rear dyno powered lights.  All set for the start of my Audax season

Sorry I meant to say I was happy to ride either route so 30 works for me!  ;D

I did take old stuff off first before putting new stuff on  :P
If anything the net weight of my bike should be less than before the refurbishments due to it having had a clean too  ::-)

A 6 man peloton departed Spa Road last night myself, Huggy, trainmanbri, Tippers Kiwi, Andy C33 and Steve Everitt with a nice trundle through the lanes of Terling, Ranks Green, Silver End and then Coggleshall saw us end up at The Bell Inn Feering to meet Tomsk.

As a first visit I found it to be a nice little pub and sampled 3 lovely pints of Southwold Bitter and enjoyed good company as always!  ;D

I opted for the Aspal's last night....not the smartest choice ever!

Great ride and Great Company as usual on the Wednesday nights. Another of us will be starting the slide down the slippery slope to audax greatness in a couple of weeks

A good ride and pub session...I knew the rain would keep off when I saw trainmanbri!

I managed to get to the Bell early so looped round towards Skye Green [as I found out it was called later] off the Marks Tey road. Always rather exciting to find a road I've never ridden before, fewer than 20 miles from home

42 miles, combined with a trip to B&Q and Lidl in Braintree in the morning, making 68 for the day.

Am I right in assuming we're going to the Oddie next week?

I think that works quite well. Tomsk said he can't make it (probably 'Book Club'  ;D) and I know it is a bit of a pain for him.

Everyone up for the same route as last time with a sneaky pint at the Layer Fox (or Potentially we could do the Hare and Hounds at Birch)

I will be out on Weds, however on the way home I will follow Oaky's route from last time around rather than COR'ing down Olivers Lane (don't fancy tempting fate as OD has come a cropper down here on 23's!!).
Huggy, Tippers I'm assuming you will be starting from Spa Rd at 7.30pm? I believe Oros and Andy C33 will also be joining us and we will meet OD in The Oddie as he will be meeting the chippy there beforehand.

 Agree on the COR, it was passable last time but I won't be heading down that way either this time round.

I'll be happy to follow a wheel in front for the route meistering this week, unless OD does decide to try leading us down some CORing despite this post ^^^  :D

Excellent....it'll be a little sedate as I am in recovery mode. Just enough to pop into the Layer Fox for a cheeky refreshment.

Wonder if the Oddie will have any of their Nourishing Cheese Rolls left this time....
