hmmm... if gears are involved, I haven't ridden the Felt for quite some time.  One downside, though - no mudguards.

Where did this chain gang nonsense come from?  I'm not sure Fred's going to like it.

It's okay OD you're not alone The Hustler/Quaffer and Ted don't see the 'need for speed' either and I guess myself and Oaky (always his fault) might be to blame after our bombing sessions in the past couple of weeks...! Sorry

Ok - we'll be a bit more leisurely then. Back to the default fixed option! Maybe put in more little lanes to my route.

Indeed.

I assume we are just ignoring the 40mph average winds and 60mph gusts forecast for this evening and tucking in behind Tomsk and Tippers

It looks lovely out there at the moment though.

If by died down you mean 41mph average then, yes, it should have.

Your presence will not be required at the front this evening.  It will be a job for the fully grown adults amongst us, and OD.

According to the BBC forecast the wind will pick up again this evening.  If it does I shall be staying at home!

^^^^ The Essex weather website has no severe weather alert in place for this evening and shows the gusts dying down to under 41mph which should at least assist Ted

I expect to see you leading the peloton this evening then Ted  ;)

Sorry to ruin your dreams but you know that Father Christmas isn't real don't you......  :o

Probably best you take a leaf out of Sister Carol's book and abide by rule #5 I think you will see from Strava that he was out riding in the middle of Hurricane Barney yesterday!

...phew... given the wetness of the weather forecast, I was going to come on the fixed anyway - for the mudguards.

It's OD that needs to MTFU.

The rest of us are looking forward to it.

Just don't expect me to appear anywhere near the front.

You've changed your tune.

On Saturday morning you were moving around the peloton campaigning about how OD's time was over and how his old fashioned ideas needed to be replaced with new dynamic leadership.

What about that leaflet you showed me with your manifesto promises on the front ?  Wasn't the slogan "Vote Doggers Lane, little things make all the difference"

I thought you were informing The Hustler at the back on Saturday about your plans for a hostile MEMWNS take over, no need to try and deflect the attention on me

I guess you're desperate for OD to attend this evening so you don't get left behind from the Oaky/Doggers chaingang over to meet Tomsk  ::-)

Ted's slowly muscling in OD but rest assured his chances of winning the MEMWNS trophy are diminishing as the weeks pass!!

The only time I got anywhere near Fred on Saturday was when it went uphill.  Once the godfather gets going he flies.

What we need is someone slow to join in that I can chat with at the back.  The Quaffer took pity on me on Saturday because he's nice (you should try to emulate him DL instead of plotting and scheming) but I could see he was itching to go and play with the fast boys at the front.

I am waiting for the beginning of December to formally announce the voting open to one and all which I shall post on the Ephiphany thread  (Ps don't waste a vote on Ted though  ;) )

Is that because it's fixed ? (no pun intended)

You could get fellow Withamite Ollie Murs to announce the winner before opening the envelope.

Please correct me if I'm wrong but I do believe I did drop to the back on Saturday to pre warn you of the dangers of riding across the new railway bridge with it's tight corners..... that's the problem with old age your memory starts to go
