The Viper is a good as anywhere for Chelmo - let's go with that and I'll inform Nick.

Carlos, you can always do an 'OD' and get the train...last one to Colchester from Ingatestone = 23:45.

Bloody `ell. I suppose I could turn it into DIY Audax, I`ve never ridden a DIY 300.

What`s the food like at The Viper?

Do they have rooms?

Deary me, your reputation for moaning a lot is well earned isn't it?  :-* ;D

I'm not sure whether this is still the case but The Viper used to be famous for it's famous chili which came in a variety of strengths.  The hottest was widely known to be hotter that the tailpipe for a North Korean ballistic missile.  Not sure about rooms but as The Viper is surrounded by woodland there must be plenty of bivvy opportunities.  Would you like to borrow my special orange trowel?

No sooner have we recovered from the latest Velodrome trip and I receive an invite to apply for the next available date between October and December.  IF I apply and am successful for a session it would make our 4th trip this calendar year.
Unless anyone has objection and enough upfront numbers are declared PDQ, I'm going to skip this invitation and wait for an opportunity in 2018.  Of course if anyone wants to make other clubs aware of the sessions I'm happy to forward the email to whomever it may be of interest to.

Yep, but it`s a 3 hour plus cycle ride to get there from mine, I just haven`t got the time I`m afraid, even going back on the train.

It's about 50km for you, so less than 2 hours with your current excellent form.

About 37km for me, so about 2 hours with my current form!

I'm hoping to make it but it looks unlikely....back on the 04:30 starts and with the 'No sleep till Dunmow' strategy for the weekend I'm trying to be a little more sensible....although seeing some of this winter kit would be of interest.

I think Tomsk may have already made arrangements with Nick.

Probably slap bang in the middle between Bishop's Stortford and Colchester is the Square and Compasses at Fuller Street, which might be a good option in the future.

Very small bar area though as it's mostly a gastropub
Probably closest would be the monkey, but limited beer selection...

The location isn't an issue from my perspective. I'm coming out of London anyway so I could just jump off at Shenfield or Ingatestone. It's just he staying up late....I'm too old.

Maybe we should all work less and make it a lunchtime start at the pub although I suspect I wouldn't always be home earlier if that were the case  ;D

The wallet would appreciate not seeing any new kit....I just bought some IRC tyres off Malcolm and I feel like they should have a diamond crust around them! They do feel good and are apparently the toughest tubeless tyres on the market. Yes, that is right....I'm trying road tubeless, again!

The Rose & Crown @ Great Waltham
The White Hart @ Little Waltham
The Windmill @ Chatham Green
are all in the region of central to most and have not felt much MEMWNS love recently, just saying

Good suggestions huggster.  I note anarchy and indecision is on the rise as there is no FORWARD PLANNING in place  ;D

From a quick bit of map and ruler it would appear teh centre of gravity if we include Bishop's has moved North to Great Leighs though this isn't weighted by the number of people at each place, just where's the centre between Col, Chelmo and BS.

Since I'm not going to be there,  maybe I should choose, and create an exceptionally loopy route with loads of COR.

There's The Willows in Cressing.

I predict a decision on tomorrow evening will be made at precisely 1027hrs on Thursday.

Stop confusing people, we're talking about tomorrow evening!

Mind you your post smacks of FORWARD PLANNING so perhaps ought not to be rubbished in such a cavalier and out of  hand fashion.  Are you volunteering to take up the FORWARD PLANNING baton?
