@BFC … I’ll take the cassette along with me then. Also, strictly speaking you should remove the ‘C’ in your name now.

I'm sure there are plenty of other uses for the ‘C’, some of which have been worn out by the drivers stuck in their cars as I rode past them on the Commute for many years. I have recycled it into Cyclist, pending any better (publishable) suggestions.

I will look into the logistics to transport the new fangled chain whip for a "design review" (aka piss take), also thinking about building a long single handed version with 1/8" chain for the track wheels, I'm sure I can do a better job than companies restricted by economic facors like markup, material cost, weight and postage.

Having second AZ jab at midday, if I drop dead in the pub you know it was a blood clot (not alcohol poisoning, honest). And I must try to eat this week, last weeks 60+ miles on a cheese sandwich and 2 pints getting to the pub was not ideal (except for rapid weight loss).

I couldn't raise the Cock (ooh-er  :o) by phone this evening, so have left a message via the contact form on their website.

For somewhere close to HBO, how about the Fox Inn, Matching Tye? https://www.thefoxinn.com/

The Black Horse, Brent Pelham?
You can’t just call time out and stroll on into the beach if you don’t like the way things are goin’.

On their home page it says "Open 7 days a week" ... ah, just seen it is only open lunchtimes Mon-Wed. Oh well. Angel and Harp is a known venue.

Ok, lets try the Axe and Compasses - they're not picking up the phone at the moment though ...

I went past on Sunday and it looked like lots of extra covered seating on the car park side, as well as the beer garden on the south side by the Ongar Road.

Just up the road from Axe and Compasses. Does the Black Lion have outdoor seating? Satellite view shows some smudges that might be tables.

It does, but when I asked them what real ales they have on (on facebook) they told me to call a number so I thought if it's that hard then no point! LOL

Shall we just aim for the Axe and Compasses? If we can't be accommodated, then the Black Lion is just down the road ... they have guest beers, we just don't know what.
