I am not enjoying this thread.
I started serious photography back in the seventies, and I got me a
yashica TL Electro-X, and I got myself the
1.2 lens, a perfect setup for available light (heavy camera, vertical metal shutter, that lens). I used to hang around with bands at the Grope & Wanker and did some publicity stuff for one or two startups. At the time the Hope & Anchor was often used by big bands for warm up gigs before large events the next day. So, being in the know I managed to be there and shoot stuff like the Stones (I remember them billed as The Sheikhs of R&B - always wondered if that led to the Sultans of Swing), the Man Band, Sam Apple Pie (anyone else remember Dave Samson's rendition of "I like to Masturbate"?), Feelgood, Lou Reed, Fleetwood Mac (or some incarnation), The 'oo.
However, I kept everything in a little darkroom not that far away, that I used to use. And one day, it was all cleared out. Completely. I don't suppose those negs got kept, even.
