Yes, but I think Marathon Plus are in a league of their own.

Anything that supplies spare parts.

The time Atacs mentioned above for instance.  The cleat springs broke on one of mine.  Asked for spare, could buy.
Ten year old SKS Rennkompressor a little rubber seal in the valve attachment mechanism had rotted. £1 later pump good as new.

Brooks B17. I went back to Brooks a few months ago after a 20+ year break. Lovely.

Campagnolo Ergopower shifters.

Shimano flat-bar shifters.

Shimano 105 deep-drop calipers.

Mavic Open Sport rims. Nobody likes them except me!

Tortec mudguards. The bike shop didn't have SKS so they sold me these. Fittings are better than SKS and they're still looking good after 3 years on my winter bike.

Blackburn Mars 4.0 rear light.  Brighter than a Smart, better built than a Smart, doesn't let water in like a Smart, has extra side LEDs.

Hmm, Brooks. OTOH my Ti Team Pro is definately my saddle of choice for Audax type distances. OTHO I've broken the U-Shackle and Tensioning Bolt on a Ti Swift and Ti Team Pro several times. I've just posted my Team Pro back to Brooks for the second time. Last time it was the bolt this time the U shackle. I've got spares but cannot fit them as the leather on the ~2yr old saddle is still hard. So could I use a Brooks on a 'round the world' adventure? I don't see how.

So I'll give the vote to my Assos 861 jacket and eTrex Vista HCx. One keeps me warm in the cold and dark, and the other points the way. I'd be lost without them!

Edit: I think honoroble mention should be given to the original Solidlights, the first real high power dynamo LED lights. They made a nonsense of all that went before.

All my favourites have been mentioned already, so I'll second:

Garmin eTrex series (I've owned three, currently using a Vista HCx)
Mavic A719 rims
B&M 'IQ' lighting (in spite of my electrical/bracket issues with the Ixon IQ.  The Cyo Just Works.)
M520 pedals (buy some cleats, get a set of no-nonsense pedals for an extra fiver)
Koolstop dual-compound pedestrian-warning system  ;D

I've also been impressed by:
Those Excellent Infini Rear Lights (TM) (sadly now discontinued, but top value at 4 quid inc batteries for a decently bright rear light with huge reflector)
Ergon GC2 grips (excellent for flat bars)
SRAM Powerlink (need I say more?)

Koolstop, without a doubt.
Pacific outdoor panniers

There's not much else that has drastically exceeded expectations for me.

BM IQ for me also - on the weekend the BM and Exposure Joystick shared my handlebars and if I turned off the Joystick you would not have noticed any difference and on top of that the BM is a third of the price.

Short-wheelbase Under-Seat steering recumbent.  => Very short cable runs, giving precise and fast gear changing and braking.  (Not so much a component as a design concept, but what the hey?)

Those tiny Redlite rear lights that fit to any tube with a rubber band. Perfect for time trials or on the road bike.

Chris King headset.  The price is awful, but they really are fit and forget, at least on a road bike.

Airborne Lancaster titanium ATB frame
VAR tyre levers
Campagnolo pedals (the old ones with toe clips, but the toe clips were a bit feeble)

Wilko's puncture repair kits.

Ah yes.  I got some from the pound shop with extra-large boxes (designed to accommodate tyre levers and some cheesy allen keys as well as the usual stuff).  Included about twice the usual number of patches, and - most critically - two tubes of glue.  Bargain.

  • Airzound (despite being prone to cracking at the handlebar mount)
  • Original Shimano LX V-brakes (the ones with the servo-wave adjustment. M600 I think). Still going strong a decade on.
