I've not seen any F35's yet.  Also used to see the occaisional big US helicopter, I can never remember which designation (MH-53?), but they seem to have disappeared over the last few years, as have the KC-10's.  There is a RC-135 (I think, or something like that) that is also now a regular.

Could it be the Super Stallion? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sikorsky_CH-53E_Super_Stallion
I flew in the back of one once, many years ago.

The A-10 is indeed a beast of a plane and has a fascinating history. The yanks even consulted https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hans-Ulrich_Rudel on its design. The USAF never liked it but the US Congress won't let them give it up until they can prove a capability to give ground troops Close Air Support.

I dabble in the simulator that the guy in the OP is using for his cockpit. It's an amazing piece of software and a lot of fun if you're into aviation at all but I won't be building a cockpit myself. On the other hand, the N+1 fund could be diverted to some VR gear some day :)  The A-10C and the F-14B are both fully modelled and a lot of fun to "fly" and several more planes are available to learn.

2 The current Gargoyle Maps satellite views of the boneyard at Davis-Monthan AFB show a lot of C-130s, S-3s, P-3s and KC-135s, but nothing looking like an A-10, though...

Cthulhu knows how I missed the patch east of S. Kolb Road - Gargle had pointed me at the boneyards northwest of the one you were looking at.

Very possibly, although I think they had some MH53 CSAR variants in support of Lakenheath fighters

The boneyard is such an eerie looking place. There seems to be a stash of A-10s without wings, I wonder if they're left over from the A-10C upgrade program which involved Boeing putting new wings on some/most of the existing airframes. It was a major avionics upgrade which gave the A-10 a proper targeting pod, GPS and datalinks which helped massively with the Blue on Blue issues from GW1 (and made it even more chuffing lethal).
