I found something even better a few years ago when the boss of my predecessor's office of "assistive tech" was literally upended into mine.

I pinned the 5.25" floppy to my noticeboard where t now happily lives!

We also found a 1986 talking portable computer thingie which I promptly swiped to save it from being binned because while completely outmoded it's a lovely piece of tech.

Don't throw them out. Put them up on ebay.

There are people setting up computers in the third world, computers that lack CD drives. 3.5" floppies is the only way to get this kit running.

I sold a Win95 set of floppies for more than they cost me, a few years back.

Yep, either ebay, charity donation or museum. Or frame on your wall or give to Barakta!

Not quite of the floppy vintage but when we cleared our rotten sheds prior to taking them down I found my old copy of the windows 95 games CD, no good to me now I'm on Linux, I also still have my old Windows 98 SE disc,  not a legal copy though.

I've found that Windows install disks (at least those supplied by Dell) are some of the few floppies kicking around that can still be relied on to work properly without going out and trying to buy new ones.  Until relatively recently they were handy to have around for BIOS updates, bootstrapping network-based OS installs and the like.
