Lovely bloke, great stories.  Five Letters from an Eastern Empire is the one I have to go back to every so often. His paintings bear looking at, too.

It took me two goes, with a 10 year interval between attempts, to read "Lanark" and I'm still not sure I got it even on the second reading.   Enjoyed "Poor Things" though.
