Naming my new server...
« on: 14 September, 2014, 01:07:37 pm »
Odd question to ask, but you might see why I'm asking it when I explain.

I've a naming convention for my PCs that's based on bikes.
The desktop is called "Colnago", because when new it was quite wizzy.
The NAS boxes are called "Ortlieb" and "Carradice".
The netbooks are called "Brompton" and "Moulton".
The domain is simply "Bikeshed".

The new server is going to replace one of the NAS boxes, but also run as a mail server, web server as well as handling DNS, DHCP and media streaming via Plex. I was thinking about calling it "Bakfiets" but I thought it would be nice to open it up to other suggestions.

Have you any?

In which case, it's crying out to be called "Lord".

Indeed.
As does the obligatory xkcd.

And, frankly, I'm astounded it's taken 10 posts to get there...
