This house is devoid of ale.*

Several years have passed since this situation last presented itself. I know this to be true because on his last night with us, Woolly and I each consumed a bottle of Thomas Hardy 2008, which I have had since then. It was too young. In my opinion, Thomas Hardy ale should be at least 5 years old before it is consumed.

*So I'm about to open a bottle of wine.

I'm lying. I've just checked the cupboard and there's another bottle of Thomas Hardy 2008 lurking at the back. I will keep that at least until their return and then I think I'll drink it on my own.

I shared a bottle of SB with my daughter yesterday when she came to visit. It is indeed excellent stuff.

I'm on the Old Thumper now, though, which Waitrose have on special offer (less than £1.50 a bottle).

Williams Bros Seven Giraffes. According to the ingredients list it doesn't actually contain any giraffe at all but don't let that put you off, it's rather splendid, if a tad summery for a dark January evening. I will offset this premature outbreak of summer with a more seasonally appropriate March of the Penguins stout next.

Been shopping on their website, have I.

Pisco resupply mission was also successful.

A bottle of Hardy's Crest Australian sparkling rosé-it was on special offer when I went shopping this evening! Knew Valentine's was good for something! LOL It happens to be my favourite tipple and I don't indulge often, so this is going to be interesting!
