Miso soup from a packet

re ESB being bottle conditioned - istr a discussion on a brewing forum fairly recently about harvesting Fuller's yeast from bottles in order to make an ESB clone (choice of yeast having a massive impact on the resulting taste). I can't imagine anyone trying this with pasteurized beer. Although some of the big American labs produce decent approximations, Fuller's yeast strains are not commercially available, so the only way to get hold of them is by trying to scavenge minute amounts from the bottle. But then some brewers (esp Trappist) introduce a different yeast for secondary fermentation from that used with primary - which makes things even more complicated....

Filter coffee made from ground coffee from Lidl. Its not at all bad, certainly as good as that from Salisbury's. Chalk up another one on the nice from Lidl list (I have another Lidl list of things that are just )
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

Not usually a lager type, but currently drinking "Chti" which is rather nice.  Named after the dialect (and the pejorative / affectionate term, depending on your perspective, for the inhabitants of) the Nord-Pas-De-Calais.

The makers of this  beer were  one of the sponsors of the Semaine Federale at St Omer in 2009. It was the before, during and after ride beer for a whole week.

Adnams' Ghost Ship - not bad, although I may need to practice with this one. If I can remember where I bought it.

Quite a lot of Suffolk pubs have been selling this recently. I like the draft version very much. Does it also come in bottles?

I have a glass of red wine on the go.

On the advice of a dear friend, a mug of hot chocolate to help me sleep.  Takes the place of a glass of malt.

Trying to cut down on my diet Cola intake,  so no having random fruit juices at lunch. .

Yesterday: Prune juice. I was drinking it as I liked the taste, seems everyone else who drinks it does so,  because their bowels don't work.

Slightly worried about what 'stool softeners' do (the carton of prune juice says it may act as one, so today I had tomato juice with my lunch. The first time I have had tomato juice on the ground.  For some reason I only have it on airplanes.
Added a lot of tabasco to add kick.

At home I'm drinking genmaicha. It's a Japanese tea with roasted rice in it. It's like tea that has had rice crispness or sugar puffs steeped in it. Currently addicted to it.

Any friend of mine that advises hot chocolate instead of malt as a nightcap may run the risk of falling off the bottom of my Christmas card list

1981 Millburn, single cask 46%, Mackillops Choice, Sherry wood. Superb whisky.
After that, a Flensburger Pilsener, one of my favourite beers. Celebration time for decision I made today.

Wittekerke Winter White Ale.

Very tasty it is too.  It's not a session beer though at 7.5%

Earlier, Golden Sheep. Now, St Peter's Organic Best Bitter...later, who knows? (although there is a bottle of Robinsons Dizzy Blonde in the fridge).

Trappistes Rochefort 10 (11.3% if that sort of thing interests you). Dark, dense and liquoricey - just the thing for a snowy night.

A pint of water but that's following a bottle of Tesco's Simply IPA (rather nice), a couple Appletinis and a couple of glasses of The Godfather (whisky and amaretto, biased towards the whisky). All tasty.
