Lemonade (diet, naturally)
Sometimes being teetotal is a real bummer, especially when I see pics of Belgian beers  :'(

Not right now, but earlier, Wolf Blass Yelllow Label cabernet sauvignon. 1/3 off at Mr Sainsbury's Emporium earlier this week.

A pint of water but that's following a bottle of Tesco's Simply IPA (rather nice), a couple Appletinis and a couple of glasses of The Godfather (whisky and amaretto, biased towards the whisky). All tasty.

Pretty much Marston's Pedigree (it has its characterisic butteriness) but with added Cascade hops for extra zing. Beer snobs go 'meh' and look down their noses at it, but it's a good value ale if you ask me. Sainsbury's sell something similar under their own brand, and as it's also brewed by Marston's and has the same hop profile, I'd say it's the same stuff but costs thirty pence more a bottle.

I've just cracked open a home-made Pinot Noir.

There's another Tesco Simply beer in the fridge, not another IPA but something else I can't remember. I think I'll drink that whilst watching Brian Cox's new show and report back later.  :thumbsup:

Especially as we had a pub lunch earlier but could only have orange juice as I was driving.

<Girardin Kriek 1882>
<Cantillon Iris>

How was the Iris? I've never had that one but I've heard good things about it. It sounds intriguing.

The Kriek is a standard bona fide classic, of course. Can't go wrong there.

Innis & Gunn Spice Rum Finish Oak Aged Beer - given to me by a work colleague as a recommendation.  Quite pleasant but at 7.4% a bit stronger than I my usual - nice as a winter warmer though.

The kriek was mine, all mine!

No doubt himself will be along to discuss in a mo, but I thought the Iris was pretty good, once I'd got over the first mouthful.

I like the original Innis & Gunn, but the one aged in a rum cask was too overpowering and cloying for my taste, and I found the extra strength a struggle.

I'm on a Tesco Finest 2009 Chianti, down from £7.99 to £5.99 and an additional £1.25 off courtesy of a Clubcard voucher.  :thumbsup:

LIDL has Ringwood Boondoggle on offer at £1.29 a bottle, so I bought a mini crate of 8. Very nice too. The Badger Fursty Ferret was a good contrast, bursting with maltiness. That was last night.

This morning, I sat outside in the sun with a capuccino made from Monsoon Malabar. Went down very well with a chunk of carrot cake.

Some rosé, as supplied last week by the curry house.

It really is absolutely ghastly.
