Had troeg hop back, Otley O-garden, and a porter whose name escapes me, plus some Bacchus, and a framboise kriek. My pub does beer in1/3 pint glasses, which is lucky as they get interesting new beers in too regularly.

I was - now back in Blighty thawing out from a week camping in sub-zero temps. Actually, although all three beers were most excellent, in an ab hoc blind tasting, all three of us picked the Rochefort 10 as the best one, and two of us put the Westvletetern in 3rd place (but only after much "deliberation").

The Sint B 12 is meant to be a pretty good substitute for Westy 12 (it's just not listed as an official Trappist ale). They share a history; without looking, I think that Westvleteren used a larger brewery down the road at Poperinge pre-WWII, before they moved operations back to within the confines of the monastery. That brewery (the one down the road) became the St Bernardus one and pretty much stuck to the Westy recipe. Or something like that.
